Denny's - Mesquite Hwy 80 & Belt Line

It is Saturday morning and for once we don't have to be anywhere before 11:00. This just doesn't happen. So me and the wifey slept in. We had to be at church from 11:00 to 4:30 to work giving gifts for children of less fortunate families. So we were not going to have a chance to eat lunch. Now you know Mitcho does not miss meals. So we decided to have a late breakfast. We first went to IHOP, but the wait was about 3 days so we did the break dance to Denny's. Their parking lot was full, but we got a table right away. Now Mitcho does not eat eggs, so breakfast choices are pretty limited. Denny's has a $2 menu that I fish around on. So I ordered a stack of pancakes and I also ordered Red Velvet Pancake Puppies.

The pancakes are pretty good for restaurant pancakes. Now Mitcho is an accomplished pancake cook, so I am pretty critical of pancakes. Of course mine are the best!!!!!!!! Denny's and most other restaurants put way too much oil in their batter and you can taste the oily taste. I have a formula that uses no oil and it makes them taste way mucho better. Go campin wit me sometime and you will see. Anyway, Denny's are pretty good considering they are loaded with oil. I actually prefer IHOP because you can get either bananas or strawberries and cream on your pancakes. Denny's didn't have these options.

The Red Velvet Pancake Puppies are small balls of red velvet cake deep fried and you have a cup of icing to dip them into. The outside of these are pretty full of oil and the red velvet cake taste is lost in the fried oily taste. But the icing taste is definitely not lost. The icing saved the day here.

So for Mitcho, a little too much oil in the food, but I did get full and made it to 5:00 without eating. So overall not too bad.

Givin Denny's a roaring 6.25.
