Hamburger Joint Taco Challenge Burger King-Jack in the Box-Dairy Queen

One of my avid (or rabid) readers recently requested a taco challenge of tacos at fast food hamburger joints. You gotta know I am a big fan of tacos. It is obviously one of the major food groups. You also need to know I am a fan of quantity over quality.

I will start with Burger Thing. They have just recently jumped into the taco game. Welcome to the big time. Good luck getting one of their tacos. I went 3 times before I found a BK with Tacos. To be fair I ordered 4 tacos at each place. The taco shell is quite greasy. The taco has lettuce and meat. The lettuce is just normal. Now for the meat. I don’t know what mystery meat really is, but I am not sure what this meat is. It may be a version of mystery meat. It has a funky kind of taste. The salsa was pretty good and enough of it covers up the meat flavor if you want to call it flavor. I give em a 6.45674. Note they are $1.00 each.

Now for Jack in the Box. I am somewhat prejudice here. In high school, Jack in the Box was the hangout place. The tacos were 19 cents each back then. We would order 15 to 20 each. So I have eaten a lot of their tacos over the years. These shells are somewhat greasy also. The lettuce is just normal. I am not sure of the meat here. It may be a mystery also. This brought back memories of potted meat. Somehow this meat taste ok. Their salsa has a decent flavor. Overall I am a fan of the Jack in the Box taco. 69 cents each. Giv’em a 7:638539.

Finally Dairy Queen. These tacos more closely resemble tacos made at home or good Tex-Mex restaurants. The shells here are a good quality shell. They are loaded with a decent amount of cheese and lettuce. The meat is real ground hamburger. Their salsa is a little lacking here. Overall this taco can compete with Mr. Tex-Mex. Here I get a basket of 3 and a drink for $4.95. I giv’em 7.95948. Of course here you can get a blizzard for dessert.

So Dairy Queen is the winner wit Jack in the Box a close second. My actual favs are Fuzzy’s Taco and Fuel City (they have fried pies!).

I am thinking we need a taco trip and eat tacos 5 or 6 times a day.
