Circle Grill

Me and a known associate meet for breakfast every Saturday morning. Usually we meet at Cracker Barrel and we have our own personal waitress. However, our waitress had surgery recently and is out of work for a few months. So we currently are free agents to try some of the local establishments that sling breakfast.

This week we chose Circle Grill. Both of us in the late 60's and 70's hung out at Circle Grill usually around midnight after an fun filled evening of Shenanigans, terriorist activities, partying and other fun filled waste of our time. We have settled down more than we would like to admit to over the many years. We didn't know each other back then, but we were probably there at the same time many times and would have been double trouble if we knew each other. Both of us rave about how good the enchiladas and chili were at midnight there. Yum, Yum. So we went back just for old memories sake.

My known associate has had Circle Grill enchiladas on his brain all week. So he asked the waitress if they could prepare enchiladas at 7:00 in the morning. One order of enchiladas coming up. They came with chips and salsa. We also ordered our usual biscuits and gravy and burnt bacon. There is nothing like some burnt pig.

Yipper, biscuits and gravy, bacon, enchiladas and chips and salsa for breakfast. The breakfast of champions (or is that chimps).

We have many friends that slide into the Circle Grill still and they brag about their breakfast. They are probably from the eggs and bacon tribe instead of the biscuits and gravy tribe.

As for biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were decent, but the gravy was lacking  Of course the burnt bacon was great, you can't hurt dead pig that is overcooked. Imagine this, the chips were stale at best. Yes at 7:00 am. The salsa needs more zing to it. The enchiladas were as good as I have had in Colorado or New Mexico, but leave something to be desired in Texas. Wolf Brand chili would be better than the chili on the enchiladas. Our memory was far better than this, of course our memory was severely damaged back in the day.

Next time wait till noon for the enchiladas.

Overall, givem a 7 for breakfast, plus a bonus point for memories so 8.0.
