Mi Tierra’s - San Antonio

Being a proper redneck after a hard day of catching crawdads in the creek or mud cat on the river we fry up the days catch, then sit on the back porch and play music. There was a day when maw and paw taught their youngins how to play, but today we send them off to school.

My oldest Grand has reached that age to learn to pitch some sounds in, so he is in the school band playing the trumpet. The band goes to these competitions to see who is the goodest. This week we have been in San Antonio for a state band contest. Unfortunately we didn’t pay the judges enough money or shine so we didn’t win it. But being in San Antonio you go to Mi Tierra’s for Mexican food.

We have been here many times in the past. The food has been good, the ambiance is incredible and it is in the Market. The Market always has interesting entertainment which we really enjoy. So I always say if you go to San Antonio you go to Mi Tierra’s.

Of course the wifey and me did the Mexican hat dance to Mi Tierra’s. First of all, the market was empty. I guess the corona with no lime scared all of the people off.

I ordered George’s plate. Beef taco, cheese enchilada, guacamole, rice and beans. The taco dripped a gallon of grease out the back end and the meat was not spiced at all.

The cheese enchilada was ok.

The guacamole was tasteless and the pepper I added didn’t have any flavor either.

Rice and beans were normal, nothing special. The chips seemed a little stale and the salsa has a funny taste, kind a like tomato soup.

Overall this was Oklahoma Mexican. Guess we will be finding another Mexican food place in San Antonio.

Giv’em a 6.5.
