Urban Taco - Mockingbird Station

So the wifey decided this evening it was movie night. She had picked out a movie that was playing at the Dirty 30 (AMC 30 Mesquite). Now this is not the place you want to be on Friday night. So I looked up the movie on-line and found that it was also playing at the Angelica at Mockingbird Station. So I looked up Mockingbird Station and saw that there was an Urban Taco. Now this is one of those cool places to hang out at, I hear. So it is only right to drag a redneck in there and see how they respond. So we did the Argentina Tango to Mockingbird Station. I was pretty worried about parking, but when we got there, there was plenty of parking in the Dart Train station. There is also a parking building connected to the shopping. So everything was pretty easy here. That's a good.

So into Urban Taco we went. So we started to review the menu. Now we had eaten a big lunch so we were not real hungry. Also there was a cupcake place next door so we had to save room for a cupcake. More later. So after reviewing the menu I ordered a Chicken Al Carbon Taco and a Al Pastor Taco. The wifey ordered a Arrachera Steak Al Carbon Taco. The wife's taco was 4 chili dry-rubbed arrachera, rajas, cilantro, guajillo piquin salsa & queso fresco. She reports that this was a very spicy and tasty beef fajita type taco. She was impressed. I ate the Al Pastor Taco first which was adobo & chili rubbed pork, roasted pineapple, guajillo piquin salsa, onions and cilantro. Man, this was a really good taco. I want about a dozen more of these. Talking spicy, tasty, and yummy good. Then I had the Chicken Al Carbon Taco which was garlic mojo grilled chicken, tomatillo Serrano verde salsa, manchego cheese & pico de gallo. Now this was a very good taco, but I should have eaten it before the Al Pastor. After eating the Al Pastor this taco seemed pretty plain. But in reality it was a very good taco.

So overall, we were impressed with Urban Taco, they better look out, this redneck is going to drag back in there someday.

Givn em an 8.113.

Also, next door is Smallcakes. Now this is an individually owned bakery that only makes cupcakes. I ordered the Choco-Holic. Of my goodness, this was a maximum chocolate cupcake, topped with a chocolate frosting that was very yummy and sprinkled were bits of chocolate. If you go, bring me a dozen home.
