Bread Winners - Uptown Dallas

Nothing like a Grove Rat Red Neck eating dinner in Uptown. It seems about 6:00 every evening, dinner time happens. So the wifey started the negotiations over where to go. So I told her she could go wherever she wanted to go. So she decided to shoot for the stars and suggested Bread Winners. Of course we are about to have to work around the clock for the next 3 months and meals will be within a mile of the house and nothing to look forward to. So being the semi-good husband I am I gave in, it does have a bakery.

So first of all, if you are thinking of going to Uptown to eat, first of all you need to make a day trip down there to figure out parking options. We didn't do this. I am talking cars parked everywhere and no openings that I could find. Finally a couple blocks past Bread Winners we came to a Men's Warehouse which on Saturday night didn't have much business going on, so we parked in their lot. Of course I worried about the car being towed during the whole meal. So it is probably not a good plan ongoing. So we will be making the scouting trip in early May.

Saturday night must be the night to go Bread Winners, because no one else was there. We had our choice of tables.

Now the menu was rather short on red neck food. I mean it didn't have ANY. So we finally decided to share a burger and have our own dessert. Now this is a plan I can get behind. So we ordered Lou's burger and sliced fruit (instead of fries).

The burger was cooked to my liking, well done. It had a special sauce that was very tasty. It also had sautéed onions and lettuce. All on a fancy bun. Overall, this was a pretty good burger.

The sliced fruit was watermelon (which I am not supposed to eat), grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe, orange slice, strawberry and grapefruit. Didn't tough the grapefruit, but the rest of it was pretty good.

Finally we are down to the real reason we are there. Chocolate Seduction Cake. This is a cake with about 4 layers of different types of chocolate, covered with a lot of a light, very sweet white frosting. This was a good.

Overall, this was a good change of pace for a red neck . Givn Bread Winners a 7.889
