The Taco Joint - Richardson Belt Line and 75

A few days ago, darling called and wanted to eat lunch at a new place. You know the blogger is always interested in a new place. So she was wanting to go to The Taco Joint. So we made plans for lunch today. So chipper (aka wifey) and me did the Fandango to Richardson.

First of all, The Taco Joint gets a minus 1 point for lack of ingenuity in it's name. Come on, let's get more creative. However, it makes the 1 point back up for being the cool place to go these days. Of course Mitcho going there killed their cool immediately. Now they are just a taco joint. So there.

The lay out is cool, with lots of pictures on walls, tables situated so that you can seat a group of any size without much trouble. The service was fast and the food was good.

I ordered two crunchy beef tacos and one soft taco. We also ordered chips and jalapeno ranch dip. The chips and dip came out first and we dove in. The chips were the pretty normal Mexican food chip. Fairly thin and tasty. But the Jalapeno Ranch was Jalapeno. Be sure your drink glass is full when you hit the Jalapeno Ranch. It is very tasty, but it is probably the hottest Jalapeno Ranch I have had. That's a go for Mitcho.

The crunchy tacos were a good size taco, the beef had one of the best flavors I have had in a taco in a while, and it has the usual suspects, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc. The taco shell was a curvy taco shell that is wide open and easy to add salsa, etc. This is a plus. The soft taco's flour tortilla did not have any special taste, but the meat was the same as the crunchy taco and very tasty and the same suspects in it. Overall it's a good also.

This place mainly had a young hip crowd, who looked at me like what is this old geezer doing here???? This looks like it will be a happening place. So if you are wanting to be happening you might want to swing in here for lunch someday.

Overall, givin The Taco Joint a 7.682.
