I finally found a good thing about the Corona with no Lyme virus (Covid-19). I had to look really hard to find a good thing, but I am from the crick, I can do it. P F Changs in Northpark the last 10 or 15 years has been one of the hardest places to get a table to grub it up. We have tried a number of times, but 2 and 3 hour waits just weren't in our plans.
Along comes Corona with no Lyme and almost nobody is eating out. Most restaurants have so few people in them that eating out that it may be safer than eating at home with all of these wannabees.
The wifey was all perplexed about what to eat this evening because over the last couple of days we have covered all the major food groups, Mexican, BBQ, Pizza, Italian, Mexican, BBQ, Pizza, etc. What are we going to do? So I spent most of the afternoon pretending I was working while I was trying to solve this difficult dynamic question that my life depends upon the answer. You know I might starve to death any moment. My first thought was Pei Wei, which is P F Changs Light, but Pei Wei does not have dining in yet. So so sorry Wei. Next time, maybe. So now I have chinese on my brain. I am not much of a fan of chinese buffets because the food quality is typically questionable. Eventually I came to the idea of P F Changs. I knew I had a winner. Winner Winner chicken dinner.
So the wifey wanders into my office of hard work and I present my suggestion and she grinned ear to ear. So it is on.
We did the Chinese New Year dance to Changs. I was right, almost no one there. Walked right in and got a table.
Time for the difficult part of the meal. The wifey needs to share and we are going to share what she likes. That's how I roll these days. So she fretted over the paper menu and then said I could pick what I like. I am not falling for that trick. I haven't restocked the snacks in the dog house lately, so I am not going for that trap. I picked out several options that seemed to be her choices and let her pick from my short list. Pepper steak was the final answer with fried rice. In reality, you probably can't go wrong with any pick here.
The Pepper Steak was very tasty, tender pieces of meat, a number types of vegetables covered with a very tasty sauce. She made a good choice. We split it in half and tore into it. Man it was good. The only problem is, when you eat 1/2 of a chinese dinner you are hungry again, half the way back to Hungry Heights. Being the smart guy I am, I talked the wifey into ordering the Great Wall of China. This 6 layers of yummy chocolate cake covered with 6 layers of chocolate icing and cut about the size of 1/2 of the original cake. I am telling you, I don't think I will ever be hungry again, or at least till morning. So I am a great problem solver.
This was a great meal in a great atmosphere. So if you need to brush up on your Mandarin and want the top of the heap fixins, peddle on over the Northpark and grab you some P F Changs.
