TaMolly's - Paris Tx.

So it is 4th of July, so you know a good redneck is out in nature popping fireworks (in his hand) and eating way too much food. So my campin buds decided we were going to a cabin in Battiest, Ok. Yes, I know, you have never heard of it. And after this, you won't anymore. Pretty cute cabins on the banks of the Glover River. I won't say the fishing was good, but everyone in the camp that threw a fishing line, caught a fish. Even all of the girls. A good redneck has to like that. Of course one of our gang has a nasty habit of catching large alligator gar's. Yes, there is a pocket knife in the boat just in case. None of our captains are wanting to be in the boat with an alligator gar. Also, Darlin, a 5 year old girl showed off her skills of catching bugs all weekend long.

So the meals for the weekend were fajita's, tacos, burritos, breakfast burritos, and no 4th July would not be complete without chili dogs and hamburgers. So when we are travelling home on Monday and going through Paris, TX at the lunch hour, of course we stopped for Mexican food.

So I have had experiences with TaMolly's before. My mother thinks the one in Greenville is the best Mexican food place around. Of course, she doesn't get around much. As the conversation went at our table, it wasn't bad, but in Dallas/Fort Worth, it wouldn't make it a week. Now if there was a TaMolly's in Oklahoma, Colorado or Montana it would be great compared to the others.

On this journey, I ordered the enchilada plate with one cheese enchilada and one beef enchilada. Both covered with queso. It also came with rice and beans, duh.

The chips were your basic Mexican restaurant chips. The salsa was mostly tomatoes, not much spice or bite.

The cheese enchilada was a basic cheese en. It was OK, but nothing special. The beef enchilada was almost disappointing. The beef just did not have any spice in it at all, It was just plain ground beef. I want some spices in there. Let's get things going, OK. The rice and beans were basic rice and beans.
Overall, this meal is OK, but that is the best I can do.

Of course Double Digits in my party ordered a tamale plate since we were in TaMolly's. He only ate 1/4 of the plate and he can be a big eater sometimes. So the tamales didn't hold up to the restaurant's name.

Givem a 6.5.
