Saturday night, the whole family minus our basketball players went to Chuy's on Knox/Henderson. Been here many times.
First of all, parking is horrible here. We did get a good spot Saturday night, but there are only about 10 good spots, then any place else you park you are risking being towed. So parking is a NEGATIVE 10!!!!!! Car Pool is a must.
Chips and Salsa - The chips are average to most Tex-Mex restaurants, so it gets a 5. The regular salsa is not to my taste, so it gets a 2 and that is generous. (The salsa is basically diced tomatos with not much else.) However, the saving grace here is the Jalapeno Ranch salsa. Muy bueno. This salsa gets an 8.
My lovely bride and myself shared Chicken fajitas. Scrumptous. The tortillas this night were a little too much like flour so it gets a 4 (normally they are a 7 at least). Chicken was well flavored and cooked to the perfect texture. Give it an 8. The condiments, cheese, sour cream, pico del gallo, etc were good also it is a 5, it would have to really be spectacular to score better, come on cheese is cheese!!! This meal came with rice and beans, unfortunately after eating the fajitas there was no room for rice and beans, so they get a pass this time.
The service was outstanding. Normally it is good, but this young lady really did a great job. Give her a 10 for service!!
Price is comparable to most other Tex-Mex restaurants is the East Dallas county area. NOTE: You have to at least once go to the original Chuy's on Barton Springs Rd in Austin. It is a true experience.
The final score is a 7.
Special Note: Our daughter, Darlin', orders Stuffed Sopapilla's. They are not on the menu. You get to specify what is included in the Sopapilla. Beef, chicken, cheese, beans, rice, sour cream, etc. She scores them an 8. You might want to try it.
