When I was a kid hanging out in the crick, why go home at lunch when you can be like Euell Gibbons and live off the weird plant growth in the woods. In this day and time, the developers have built homes all over where the crick use to be. So now we have to find a decent salad bar to mimmick what the crick bottom had to offer. Lately here is Skeeterville, we have added a new salad bar restaurant named Salata. Since Souper Salad bit the dust because they didn't keep their food reasonably fresh, Skeeterville only had salad bars at Jason's, etc. to eat good rabbit food and all of these have limited offerings. So pretty excited about the salad option. The wifey suggested we give her a go, so we did the Rabbit Shuffle to Salata.
They have 3 options, wrap, small bowl and regular bowl. Man it would have taken all 9 of the rabbits I used to raise to eat the regular bowl full of rabbit food. The small bowl in itself was about all of the rabbit food I could stand in one setting. The wrap is just a wrap. As you can imagine, we ordered a small bowl.
There are 4 or 5 leafy type options to start things off, then a world of toppings. You could take this tour in many directions. I especially like the fact that they have celery, radishes and other items that you don't normally find on a salad bar. So just go wild and weird, no one is watching. I would have liked to have thousand island dressing, but that was not an option. I guess too many islands.
They do offer multiple types of chicken, shrimp and other protein type add-ons for an additional fee.
A small bowl is big enough to keep you full for at least an hour or so.
Overall, I am glad we have this option now and will hold court here from time to time.
