Zanata - Rockwall

The wifey and me are all churchified. You would know that if you have read the blog much. We go to The First Fried Chicken Eating Mostly Non-Denomination Somewhat Baptist Church. We call it CLife for short. We are part of a group of adults who gather once a week to try to cleanup the act of us rednecks and get us more like Christ. Which you know God parted the red sea and Jesus turned water into wine, but cleaning up a redneck takes more than a few minutes. Not everyone in the group is redneck, so I have some work to do also. The wife of the leader of our group determined that us guys were taking our favorite gal to a group Valentines dinner. That is a sure fire way for the wifeys to get a good meal, when you put peer pressure on the other wives. Us guys, we are just casualties. The head wife decided that we would go to Zanata's for dinner the night after Valentines. So we did the tarantella to Zanata's in Rockwall.

Zanata's is a high cotton Italian restaurant. I found that I needed a semi-smart phone so that I could Google the names of the different items in each entre. Most of this is stuff I have never heard of. This is not home of redneck cooking. Our kind of good food is like the Chuck wagon cook in the movie City Slickers said, "the food is brown, hot and plenty of it". The place is decorated nicely. There are some wall decorations that have been hung by a redneck, so I was very proud.

The wifey ordered a Supremo Pizza for us to share. This is sausage, pepperoni,  olives, onions and barking cat farms bell pepper. I don't really know what barking cat farms is , but the name is just fine in redneckville, it's a plus. I am not sure what happened to our pizza, but the crust was the soggiest I have ever had. The toppings were mighty good. I checked out the pizza of the other folk around me and their pizza was not soggy. So I guess the cat does more than bark. Overall, this was pretty good pizza.

Then the wives decided we were getting dessert. Of course I went along. The wifey ordered Pistachio gelato. She thought she was getting pistachio cheesecake. I didn't look at the menu, but gelato should have been an effective clue. Gelato for all of my redneck brethren is fancied up ice cream. Mitcho has a long history eating ice cream, so this was a good. The gelato had a great flavor.

Overall, this was a fun evening of corrupting friends and eating some good food.

Note: The federales are stirring up trouble, so I am going to have to hunker down and hide out for the next 6 to 8 weeks. So it may be a while till I write my next blog. Happy eating.
