Kitchens Hardware & Cafe - Mineola, TX

Due to life's circumstances, I have been hanging out in the city with them so called professionals and I feel like I have become way to citified. So the wifey and I decided to skip off to East Texas and associate with some good ole East Texas rednecks for a few days. All you have to do is hole yourself up in an area with mobile homes, storage buildings turned into homes, and other makeshift accommodations and you will get an education of a lifetime or two.

Of course while we were down in the woods, we tended to wander during the day and one day we wandered into Mineola. Now, I have been here before and I have been aware of the cafe in a hardware store. This is redneck on steroids. So we slid into Kitchens Hardware and Cafe. Nothing like eating with shelves of hardware nearby and many many old relics of the past.

After studying the menu, I decided to go for the Junk Yard Dog. I am thinking why not. This is a hot dog with chili, sauerkraut, onions, cheese and any other stray items they happen to have in the kitchen. this doggy had the best sauerkraut I have tore into in a very long time. The chili and dog were pretty good, and there was a good amount of onion. Overall, this was a powerful good doggy.

The meal also came with homemade french fries. We all like fries, and these were pretty thin cut and fried crisp just like I like'em.

So if you are getting too citified and need an instant cure, grab up some know associates and bogey down to Mineola and checkout Kitchens Hardware you won't regret it.
