The corn dog is top dollar cuisine in the red neck world. How can it be any better. It's cousin the hot dog all doctored up is also top dollar. So being a self respected red neck I am always up for a corn dog. Recently we learned that Wienerschnitzel had a corn dog on it's menu. So we moseyed on over to the Mesquite location off Oates to test their corn dog.
Then at our church Sunday (The First Fried Chicken Eaten Mostly Non-Denominational somewhat Baptist church) a known associate reported that Griffs had the best corn dog. Now I had to verify this claim for all of the red neck world. It was absolutely my job to test both to determine the true results.
So the wifey and me had already been to Wienerschnitzel lately so today we did the corn dog hop over to Griffs near Memoral Stadium. First all both are very good corn dogs. But it is my job to break em down to all ingredients. The stick is the same. duh. The wiener is probably the same. No difference. It comes down to the breading and that's where the rubber meets the road. The Griffs breading is your basic breading and was slightly soggy. The Wienerschnitzel corn dog breading had a very good flavor and was crispy. This next statement will get many unknowing people riled up but the Wienerschnitzel corn dog is as good as Fletchers. I will go into hiding for a while now.
So obviously Wienerschnitzel is a clear winner. Now if I was over by Memorial stadium and hungry for a corn dog no doubt I would be hitching my horse up to the post and getting me some corn dogs at Griffs.
By the way Wienerschnitzel has a broad selection of hot dogs that are very good. You can't go wrong there.
